Chamberlin Named C3 Accredited Employer

Chamberlin was recognized as an accredited Construction Career Collaborative (C3) employer. The accreditation acknowledges Chamberlin’s compliance and commitment to C3 principles for its entire craft workforce on all projects.

C3 is a voluntary alliance of owners, contractors and specialty subcontractors dedicated to promoting the sustainability of the construction workforce. The mission of C3 is to provide a method whereby responsible owners, contractors and specialty contractors can positively affect the growth of a sustainable construction workforce by advancing principles that raise the image of the industry, by attracting and retaining qualified workers, providing a safer and healthier work environment and improving quality, efficiency and productivity. C3’s Commitment to Sustainable Careers for our Workforce includes commitment to these
three principles:

1. Promote the financial security, health and well-being
of all craft workers.
2. Require construction industry safety training
standards for the workforce.
3. Commit to craft training.

The commercial construction industry has been a provider of good jobs and careers for craft workers for decades. But, according to recent industry studies, that trend has been eroding and a different kind of workforce is emerging. Desirable careers are giving way to a workforce that is aging, largely misclassified, under-trained and diminishing in hourly workers.

While the Texas Legislature and cities around the state are poised to crack down on misclassification of employees, C3 offers an opportunity to get ahead of government in favor of a private sector solution. Adopters of C3 principles, like Chamberlin, will have the knowledge and ability to compete on a level playing field while  creating a workforce that is sustainable for years to come. C3 compliance means our company has an independent third party’s recognition that we are committed to the industry’s best practices.
