Description:

Dallas Love Field is a city-owned public airport in the heart of Dallas, TX, serving seven million passengers a year. The Love Field Modernization Program was the largest and most ambitious construction effort at Dallas Love Field Airport since its establishment. The $519 million project involved a complete renovation and expansion of the main terminal, the addition of two new concourses, a larger baggage claim area and a new ticketing wing.

Chamberlin was honored to reveice TEXO Distiguished Building Award and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NCRA) Gold Circle Award for their work on Dallas Love Field. Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing was selected as the roofing contractor for this project. Chamberlin completed a 95,000 square-foot re-roof on the main terminal, removing the current built-up roof and installing a torch-applied Soprema two-ply modified bitumen roofing system. The same Soprema roofing system was installed on the expansion of the main terminal, new concourses, baggage claim and ticketing wing. In total, 450,000 square feet of the Soprema roofing system was installed.

Chamberlin also installed a 45,000 square-foot GAF PVC roof on the main canopy at the airport entrance. A 40,000 square-foot Firestone TPO roofing system was installed on a roadway canopy. Chamberlin’s scope included the installation of 12,000 lineal feet of Hickman aluminum coping on all of the roofs combined. A ten-man crew worked for four years to complete this tremendous project on time and with no safety incidents.
