The Houston Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. hosted their Annual Inaugural Dinner on January 6, 2005. In addition to welcoming new board members and committee chairs, ABC, Inc. also thanked those companies who served or made significant contributions to the organization in 2004. Among the few awards given was New Member of the Year.

As ABC, Inc. Greater Houston Chairman Joe McKee addressed the over 200 members in attendance, he offered these words regarding the New Member award, "The New Member of the Year award was very close with several of the 73 new members receiving votes from the Executive Committee. The final decision was based on which company immediately participated in numerous activities and acted like an experienced member. The winning company had individuals that joined several different committees, sponsored several events, and one person in particular, Chamberlin Senior Project Manager Jonathan Winkles, volunteered to Chair the Executive Development Committee.  ABC would certainly be a great association if all new members took part like this year''s New Member of the Year: Chamberlin Roofing and Waterproofing.”

Chamberlin Project Manager Joe Cotten accepted the award on Chamberlin’s behalf noting his surprise and honor. In addition to Jonathan Winkles’ participation, Joe Cotten also works on the Executive Development committee serving as an ABC student chapter liaison and scholarship reviewer.
