Houston Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) honored Chamberlin’s Marketing Manager, Monica Keels, with an award for the Allied/Professional Member of the Year on Dec.5. The award was presented at BOMA’s annual holiday luncheon in downtown Houston.

“Monica is an asset to Chamberlin and all the professional organizations she’s involved in,” John Kafka General Partner said. “It’s gratifying to see the members of BOMA recognize and appreciate her contributions as much as we do at Chamberlin.”

The Allied/Professional Member of the Year award recognizes members who exemplify the best of Houston BOMA’s volunteer leadership. Candidates for this award have contributed in their own way to the association’s goals during the year. Monica was chosen for her integral part in the success of BOMA’s biggest yearly event – the Building Expo, along with her active participation in the Young Professional’s Group and the Green Committee.

“She (Keels) continually gives tirelessly to this organization and is one of BOMA’s strongest supporters both on and off  the field; and her spirit of ‘never say never’ makes her one of BOMA’s shining stars,” BOMA President, John Kelley said when presenting Mrs. Keels with the award.

“Being an active member of BOMA has been both a fun and rewarding experience for me. I hold the relationships that I have made within the BOMA community very close,” Keels said. “I owe a special thank you to Chamberlin for supporting me in all of my BOMA activities.”

Keels has been a member of BOMA since 2004 when she joined the Chamberlin team. She has served on numerous committees including Special Activities (2004), Young Professionals (co-Vice Chair for 2005 & 2006), Allied/Professional Council (2007 & 2008), Green Building Council (2008) and Co-chair of the annual BOMA Expo for 2007 and 2008.

More than 300 BOMA members attended the lunch and award reception. BOMA is a network of more than 600 commercial real estate professionals representing more than 100 million square feet of commercial real estate in the Houston area.
BOMA’s mission is to support and advance the interest of the commercial real estate industry. The Houston Building Owners and Managers Association is an organization of advocacy that utilizes the strengths, talents, and leadership of its members to build value and lasting relationships within the community through professional development, networking and sharing of information.
