Chamberlin Employees and Associates Support Tornado Victims in Oklahoma
In the wake of the devastating tornadoes that ripped through Oklahoma, we have all seen the people of Moore banding together to rebuild. Pitching into the efforts, Joe Ayala, a Chamberlin Roofing and Waterproofing Senior Project Manager, gathered manufacturers and suppliers in the industry to join the 35 volunteers.
Chamberlin started out the day with Feed the Children in Oklahoma City, an international charity combating hunger and poverty, which focused its efforts on disaster relief to support the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes. The crew unloaded, organized and packaged hundreds of supplies for distribution.
Once Chamberlin arrived to Serve Moore, the volunteer organization leading the clean-up in the area, volunteers helped clear debris and fallen trees out of yards while others helped remove damaged furniture and other items from the houses.
Besides donating their time to the cause, some of Chamberlin’s vendors involved in the day also donated work supplies, such as shovels, gloves and wheelbarrows. Food for the volunteers’ lunches and monetary donations were also made. At the end of the day, the group left their work supplies with Serve Moore to utilize for other volunteers. Together they worked diligently and completed every task assigned to them.
We are extremely proud of our employees’ efforts and especially tip our hat to Joe for being the driving force in organizing it all. Many thanks go to our vendors for their support. It is good to know who has your back during the hard times, and we are grateful to have such caring people on our team.
