Excellence in Safety & Construction Recognized by ABC |
| Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) recognized the nation’s top 2009 construction projects and safest firms during its 20th annual National Excellence in Construction (EIC) and National Safety Excellence Awards celebration in San Diego, California on February 4, 2010.
“ABC congratulates Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing for its exceptional work on the TWU Weatherproofing project,” said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO. “This project is an outstanding example of the innovation and commitment to superior craftsmanship that embody merit shop construction. It is a pleasure to honor this project with the association’s top construction excellence award.” The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects and safety programs. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost. Selection criteria for the national safety winners included each member’s self-evaluation scores, lost workday case rates, total recordable rates, and interviews conducted by members of ABC National’s Environment, Health and Safety Committee. Chamberlin was honored with a National Safety Award of Merit. |
