Although Anthony Smith landed in the waterproofing business by pure luck, he has been playing his hand exceptionally well. In his career at Chamberlin he has worked on many notable projects including the award winning Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art and Samsung Austin Semiconductor Fabrication plant. Here is a little more about Anthony that you might not know.

Experience:

Anthony was fresh out of college in 1998 with his construction science degree from Texas A&M University when he became a project coordinator in Chamberlin’s waterproofing department in Dallas, Texas. “I thought it was an interesting field of work that aligned well with my degree, and I could see that Chamberlin was a growing and expanding company,” said Smith who grew with the company when he became a project manager in 2001. That same year he was assigned to Austin where he moved to help establish a Chamberlin office. For the last seven years Anthony has been building relationships and executing work for clients in the Austin and San Antonio areas.

A Day in the Life:

As the Operations Manager, Anthony wears a lot of hats. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the Austin and San Antonio projects, he also is responsible for work that takes place as far south as South Padre Island and as far west as El Paso.

Outlook:

“I think people hire us because of our knowledge and professionalism,” Anthony said, “we follow up on our word, that’s why we have a good reputation with our customers.” Anthony sincerely cares not only about his customers, but also the people on his team, “I really care about the welfare of our workers. What we do is sometimes dangerous, so safety is our top concern.”

Outside the Office:

Anthony’s favorite past time is traveling. He has been to most of Europe as well as Malaysia, Taiwan and the Philippines. He hopes to visit Australia one day soon.
